A fatwa of the heart
A dear friend, a South African Maulana sent us this at the time of our marriage:
"Like you I believe that the voice of love, of conscience which comes from deep within ourselves is the spirit of Allah beckoning us to serve and worship Him by being true to ourselves.
I wish you well my friends and trust that you will walk in the mercy of Allah for - difficult and painful as it may be, you are giving expression to an instruction of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
'Good is that which your heart feels at ease with despite the reproaches of people,
Evil is that which continues to move around in your soul despite the assurances of people that what you have done is ok.
Seek (thus) a fatwa from your heart'
